Biographical Highlights

margin Brent Tantillo Counsel and Legislative Assistant with Congreesman Todd Akin of Missouri. Previoisly, he was a research fellow and deputy director of the Hudson Institute's Projects for Civil Justice Reform and International Religious Liberty.

marginTantillo is the founding president of the Texas Review Society, a nonprofit corporation concerned with educating the public about the free-enterprise system and the American way of life. His leadership of the society culminated in the creation of four leading public affairs newspapers: The Austin Review, Texas Education Review, The Houston Review, and The Examiner.

marginPrior to joining Hudson Institute in 2003, Tantillo was a government relations consultant for Freeport-McMoran Copper & Gold, an international mining company, and before that served the Intercollegiate Studies Institute as program director of the Collegiate Network and later as director of institutional advancement. He also has held positions as research director for Orlando Sanchez for Houston Mayor and state chairman of Young Conservatives for Texas.

marginTantillo holds a BBA in finance with honors from the University of Texas and a J.D. from the University of Houston.

Publications and Media Exposure

marginTantillo was an editor of Start the Presses: A Handbook for Student Journalists (ISI Books, 1999), with an introduction by William F. Buckley, and was a contributing editor to Choosing the Right College – The Whole Truth about America’s Top Schools (Wm B. Eerdman, 2001). He has been quoted in newspapers such as The Washington Times, Chicago Tribune, Daily Oklahoman, San Antonio Express News, and Florida Times-Union. His article in the Fall 2000 Campus magazine, "A Presidential Prescription: Texas Gov. George W. Bush Unveils his Cure for U.S. Education," featured an interview with now-President Bush shortly before his election.
